Garage Museum for Contemporary art

The readymade consists of used oil and gas pipe. This work was shown in the temporal pavilion of Museum of Contemporary Art Garage. It represented my attitude towards contemporary art in Russia. Almost all private institutions that support artists were founded by people who made their money in 1990s using mineral resources. The main sponsor of the Garage is Roman Abramovich who also started his career in oil and gas industry. Moreover, the size of the tube is the same as the size of the columns in the entrance. The guest architect Shigeru Ban wanted to build environmentally friendly pavilion from recycled materials but Russian legislation did not allow it. Thus, the construction of the pavilion is made from metal. All this «environmentally friendly» thing is just a facade.
